Legislation: The Legislature is made up of Members of Parliament and the Governor-General. The role of the Legislature is to petition, campaign, make laws, and to question the Executive.
Executive: The Executive is made up of Ministers and Government departments. The role of the Executive is to decide policy, propose laws, and apply the law.
Judicial: The judiciary of New Zealand is a system of courts that interprets and applies the laws of New Zealand, to ensure equal justice under law, and to fix fights and other problems.
